We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Director Global Commercial & Business Development with a strong track record in media and a passion for brands, to join our Global Commercial team. You will report directly to the Managing Director of Global Entertainments (GE) and as a member of the Management Team you will be focusing on the professionalisation and development of our Global Commercial business/non-TV business: Brand & Licensing and Digital. 

Global Commercial & Business Development is a key focus for GE.
This part of the business has grown enormously over the past few years and now consists of 30% of the total business. We see huge  growth potential in this area as the industry is changing rapidly and brands can be extended to multiple platforms and products. The Global Commercial (GC) team consists of 38 FTE (19 out of the UK). 

The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of our industry, has extensive experience with digital, video, audio, gaming and gambling, is passionate about brands, sponsorships, events and is creative in seizing new opportunities. 

The candidate is able to manage a variety of teams/multiple teams, loves working in a fast-paced environment and is a true ambassador for our company. 

The role requires the candidate to be able to deal with the pressure of working in a global organisation, to take well considered decisions and be a strategic thinker.

The Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders ranging from Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Global Content & Productions, Comms and beyond.


  • Grow the Global Commercial business:  Brand & Licensing and Digital
  • Turn formats into strong Global Commercial brands
  • Maximise the commercial value of ITV brands 
  • Set up & maintain optimal ancillary exploitation engine for both Global Entertainment & Global Distribution
  • Build strong relations with partners across the world.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the ambitious and dedicated Global Commercial team to deliver on strategy
  • Develop best in class consumer propositions 
  • Develop new business propositions to drive revenue growth
  • Guide & guard all activities of the non-TV business/Global Commercial business
    • Brand & Licensing: Brand Integrations, Merchandise, Gaming &Gambling, Events & Virtual Experiences 
    • Digital: Social media, Apps & Video
    • Global music rights
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Network, Format Sales, Global Content & Production in generating portfolio value
  • Develop long term strategic partnerships with clients, partners and local ITV Studios in the Global Commercial landscape
  • Ensure development of the workforce (both individually and as a group) in line with the growth mindset objectives
  • Be a sparring-partner for the MD
  • Be a valuable member of the ITVS Global Entertainment Management Team (Sales, Content & Productions, Finance, Legal) with active contribution to the overall management of the company


Global Entertainment (GE) , ITV Studios focuses on the international sale and exploitation of formats from the catalogue of ITV Studios. This includes The Voice and its multiple spin-offs such as The Voice Kids and The Voice Senior (135 versions in 180 countries), the popular Love Island, Hell’s Kitchen, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, and The Chase. GE is known for its expertise in managing shows that attract large audiences, and have great Global Commercial potential. Global Entertainment monetizes content in a wide variety of ways, including brand licensing, merchandising, commercial integration, and digital and social activities.

In addition, it’s important to tick most boxes in the list below: 

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Communications, Business Administration or similar
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing teams of professionals in an environment of equants
  • At least 8 years of commercial international experience in the Industry
  • Excellent understanding of our business
  • Proven expertise in the digital and brand licensing business
  • Very strong affinity with digital, video, audio and gaming 
  • Proven fluency, both oral and written, in English and Dutch
  • Located in The Netherlands
  • Connecting people and processes: You’re a highly effective and empathetic communicator with strong interpersonal skills in words and writing
